Brief Description
The Equal Remuneration Act, 1976 provides for payment of equal remuneration to men and women for same work or work of similar nature. The enforcement of Equal Remuneration Act is done at central level by the office of Chief Labour Commissioner who heads the Central Industrial Relations Machinery (CIRM) and at the State level by respective State Governments.
